Believe's Living in Sobriety part 41

old part here....

Thanks Nel!

The concert last night was AMAZING! He took the opportunity to remind the crowd that we are our brother's keeper, that this earth is the only one we've got and then rocked the Heavens with his beautiful music and lyrics!

The homeless situation here is stark. It is so very easy to forget that we have brothers and sisters who have so little. Can each of us go out of our way today and help another in need? I know a lot of you do this anyway, but just sayin'.....until we realize that we have more in common than not, we will never move forward. hugme.gif

Thanks Nel for the new part and sorry to hear PL got stung by a wasp, that hurts.

Seek glad to hear you enjoyed the concert. Yeah there's a lot of people in the States who are in need, I usually see a few men and women on the on/off ramps of the George Washington Bridge holding cardboard signs, "Homeless Hungry Please Help" and if I don't have a passenger and if I have extra of my bottled water, I'll give it away. But I never give money. Part of me says, "you can always find some kind of job" and one of my new sponsee's has certainly proved that - he cleans church classrooms and restaurants at night and during the day he does landscaping. Any lengths.

Did some gardening yesterday; weeded and then planted some mums (2 9" purple's in containers and 2-6"orange mums in the garden, 2 flowering cabbage's and purple grass) - we'll see how the chipmunks like their new yard LMAO_F

Prayers, love and hugme.gif 's to everyone!

Nel...Thanks for the new part
Glad you were there for PL and very grateful she ain't allergic

Quote:But I never give money. Part of me says, "you can always find some kind of job"

With all due respect some times that is true (At times sh*t happens)-
Our Book suggests... "It is not the matter of giving that is in question, but when and how to give.. That often makes the difference between failure and success .............." [pg 98]

My expereince is to pray first- as it suggests in the 24 hour plan [pg 86-87]...At times I will take the person to the store or gas station and place a limit on what to give and other times it is a God nudge to do a little more..

Not much on the agenda today.. just gonne enjoy BEING.
.It is tomar I get to be of service in the community and while doing so will take my neighbor to lunch.. It is a fun place run by a guy who is also a comedian tho you won't see him on any shows.

I was on the Anonymous Press site and saw a poll that they were doing:

Have you finished reading The Big Book?
Yes: 72%

No: 27%

Total votes: 29

For me I'm in the "no" percentage. The BB is a continuous read in my opinion, a text book, a study guide, an inward look to my disease that I have to referrence repeatedly. It gives directions on how to look at and deal with my defects and how to help others.

Prayers, love and hugme.gif 's to everyone!

I agree with ya CB...and it is the book in it's entirety...
Some folks here think it is just the 1st 164 pages..WOW!! I would have missed alot if that was suggested to me

I found many of the tools in my spiritual tool box in the stories...and I ain't done seeking 'cuz those Bugalademujs mentioned on page 499 are still at work.
That paragraph is wonderful and it tells me the more I read and study the deeper my understanding and the deeper the understanding the more I grow...and flutter about

Did you wave your hand to volunteer toothy?

Just kidding...
Is it the poop fairy or just life on life's terms?
Seriously tho ...what's in your kit of spiritual tools to handle the messing?

Flitting and fluttering today by relaxing and chilling

So grateful the fluttering wings of yesterday were restored to full strength by a good nights sleep so i can flutter again today to be of "Maximum Service"
